Dian Intarini

Indigenous People Global Manager for Certification and Forestry

Dian Intarini is an Indonesian, raised in Javaness culture. Prior to the FSC-IF, she was a Co-Founder and researcher of the Dala Institute in Indonesia and she holds an MSc degree in Agricultural Science and Food Security at the University of Hohenheim, Germany, and Forestry at the Gadjah Mada University in Indonesia. She has extensive consulting experience with global leaders in natural resource management: the World Agroforestry Centre for International Forestry Research and Forest Stewardship Council. She has been venturing in Sumatra, the East and West Kalimantan frontier with forest communities for her research. She analyses the challenges of society and the environment and how they could work better together. Dian is a specialist in land tenure and her research covers issues such as community natural resources management and participation, forest and agriculture certification, forest government, market and supply chain of community products, food security, and rural development.
